Overview
A deep-blue freshwater favourite.
Blue Dream Shrimp are a selectively bred colour variety of Neocaridina davidi, known for their rich blue colour and peaceful behaviour.
They spend much of the day grazing on biofilm, algae and tiny food particles found across plants, wood, rocks and other aquarium surfaces.
Their colour stands out especially well against green plants, dark substrate and natural hardscape. Like other Neocaridina, they do best in mature, stable aquariums.

Feeding
Blue Dream Shrimp spend much of their time grazing on naturally occurring biofilm and algae. Their diet can be supplemented with quality shrimp foods, vegetables and occasional protein-rich foods.
Behaviour
Peaceful and active, Blue Dream Shrimp spend much of the day exploring the aquarium and grazing across available surfaces.
Breeding
Mature females carry fertilised eggs beneath the abdomen until they hatch as miniature, fully formed shrimp. A mature aquarium with moss and plenty of biofilm gives shrimplets the best chance to thrive.
Colour Line
Blue Dream Shrimp are best kept separately from other Neocaridina colour varieties when maintaining a strong and predictable blue colour line is important.
